We have 1x Project Scheduler position available within the Water Sector for the NSW State Government!

Candidates for this position MUST have strong proficiency with MS Project, and Primavera 6, along with experience on large infrastructure projects (Water projects are preferred, but not essential)

About the Role

As the Project Scheduler you will prepare project schedules and plans covering the full project scope and all project phases. They will optimise schedules to ensure delivery of all projects and programs meet the project objectives, timelines and budgets whilst maintaining consistency, accuracy and efficiency in scheduling across Enterprise Projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and Maintain Project Schedules: Create, maintain, and update project schedules using tools like Microsoft Project (or P6), adhering to best practice procedures and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget from initiation to close-out.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Alignment: Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure project plans and schedules are aligned, and communicate critical issues that may affect project delivery.
  • Critical Path and Milestone Management: Identify and track the project's critical path and key milestones, reporting progress and ensuring the Project Manager is aware of potential impacts.
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and monitor variance reports (progress, cost, time) and conduct Earned Value Analysis (EVA) to assess performance against the approved baseline and propose remedial actions.
  • Cost and Resource Management: Cost load and resource load the schedule, and perform forecasting in scheduling tools like P6.
  • Process Improvement and Compliance: Evaluate current procedures to recommend efficiency improvements, participate in post-project reviews, and ensure vendor schedules comply with contract requirements.
  • Change Management Support: Assist the Project Manager by validating the time component of compensation events and incorporating approved Extensions of Time (EOT) claims into the schedule baseline.

About You

You will be an experienced Project Scheduler with proven experience and reliability in previous positions

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering or related field.
  • Strong experience with MS Project and Primavera 6 (Essential)
  • Power BI reporting skills beneficial but not necessary
  • Approximately 4 to 7 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts and best practices for scheduling
